What to Pack for Your Group Vacation

If you’re considering hopping on a flight with your extended family, or you’re getting your friends together for a huge blow-out trip, then there are a few things you’ll need to consider before you make your way to the airport.

Group vacations can be a lot of fun, but it’s important to remember that you need to look after yourself, while taking into account the feelings, and preferences of the people around you. To some degree, this will mean showing a level of patience, and compromise during your trip, but it also means knowing which travel accessories you might want to take with you when you travel. That’s why we’ve put together this list of what to pack for your group vacation.

1.    Headphones

It doesn’t matter how well you and your bestie, you and your cousin, or you and your mom get along – at some point you’re going to need some time to yourself on your trip. A pair of headphones might not seem like much, but when it comes to figuring out what to pack for your group vacation, they should make the top of the list. Headphones give you an opportunity to block out the noise when you want to sleep while everyone else is partying, as well as allowing you some alone time with music and movies if you feel like a break from the whole “group” vibe.

2.    Your Smartphone

To most people, the concept of leaving their smartphone behind is simply absurd – but not everyone wants to have to deal with constant notifications and updating their social media status when they’re on vacation. However, a smartphone becomes essential for a group vacation, as it allows you to take photos to document memories, stay in touch with your group when you all break apart, and even grab a calculator to work out those pesky restaurant bills.

3.    A Universal Plug

Travelling in a group usually means travelling with a lot of electronic devices, from smartphones, to cameras, tablet computers and laptops. Make yourself the hero of the group by ensuring you stock a universal plug in your suitcase. The last thing that you want is for your devices to start dying, just to notice that you don’t have any chargers that match the outlets in your chosen destination. You can always combine the universal plug with a power strip too – if you want to be extra popular.

4.    Entertainment

Boredom shouldn’t be much of a problem during periods of group travel, but if you’re wondering what to pack for your group vacation, you might consider adding a book or a tablet computer to the list. This can be a good idea for keeping yourself entertained when other people in your group want to do something that doesn’t appeal to you. What’s more, a tablet computer connected to a television in your hotel room can be ideal for a rainy movie night when the weather isn’t up to scratch outside.
