6 Great Travel Hacks to Make your Adventures Easier

If you’re constantly dreaming about spending more time away from your home – exploring the vast collection of beautiful sights and experiences around the world today, then you’ve come to the right place. At Venture 4th, we pride ourselves on inspiring and informing travelers with an eye for adventure, but we also recognize that exploring the world isn’t always an easy feat. There’s plenty of different concerns to think about – from making sure that you stick to your budget, to avoiding disaster with a waterproof money pouch.

Fortunately, with the latest technology, and cheaper air travel coming together in an effort to connect our world more readily than ever before, it’s easy to begin ticking off your list of “must-see” places. Following, we’re going to take a look at some great travel hacks that you can use to make your adventures easier, and keep your travel nightmares to a minimum.

1.    Avoid the Crowds

Although travelling can offer a great opportunity to explore new cultures and meet new people, that doesn’t necessarily mean that you want to feel overwhelmed by crowds all the time. After all, no-one wants to have to fight for a position on the beach or struggle to move in the pool because of a pile of sweaty tourists knocking against your travel purse. If you want to make sure that you have the freedom to explore any location in style, make sure that you’re picky about the times when you choose to travel. For instance, if your schedule is flexible enough that you can fly during off-peak hours, take advantage of this.

Popular travel times and dates, like Sunday nights, Saturday mornings, and pre-holiday rushes can lead to congested flights and airports, which might instantly suck the fun out of your vacation experience. If you can manage red-eye flights, then go for that instead. You might be tired, but at least you can avoid the rush.

2.    Mind Your Manners

Sometimes, certain aspects of your vacation might not be particularly fun, but that doesn’t make you should take the frustration of long security lines out on the people around you. Your TSA locks should go some way towards limiting your problems with security, and even if other people are driving you insane, remember that keeping a level head is crucial. Being polite and kind not only reduces your chances of getting into trouble at the airport and missing your flight – but it could earn you the appreciation of airport officials that can help make your life a little easier.

Sometimes, upgrades and extra perks can all be earned simply because you’re willing to be friendlier around the airport staff and hostesses.

3.    Coordinate Your Outfits over your Travel Purse

One of the most effective methods for saving space in your suitcase is to make sure that everything you pack goes together. In simple terms, choose colors and styles that you can easily mix and match, and ensure that you take a range of clothing that can be worn either casually, or formally depending on the occasion. The more careful you are with your outfit choices, the more likely it is that you will avoid having to pile extra clothing into your suitcase.

Most fashion-savvy individuals recommend sticking to colors like black, white, blue, and brown – as these are perfect for almost any occasion. Remember, keep it loose so your clothing covers your travel purse or waterproof money pouch.

4.    Grab Plenty of Healthy Snacks

Any list of great travel hacks would be lacking without some focus on how to keep your stomach satisfied when you’re in the airport and flying to your chosen destination. We won’t even begin to touch on the problems that most people have with airline food, and you never know when you might end up stranded somewhere with nothing healthy to eat. Making sure that you have access to your own nutritious food is a great way to ensure that you’re not going to suffer from a grumbly stomach, or the aches and pains from munching on fatty items all day.

Snacks like dried fruit, healthy granola bars, raw nuts, and chicken or turkey jerky are always good bets when you’re travelling, but it’s important to make sure that you check the rules and regulations surrounding your specific flight and airport before you go. The last thing you want is to be held up at customs because you’re carrying too much food with you.

5.    Have the Right Attitude

Let’s face it, no matter how many great travel hacks you have access to, there’s always the chance that something could go wrong with your vacation. Travelling across the world opens you up to a range of factors that you couldn’t possibly control by yourself, which means that you need to be prepared for something to go wrong. Saying that, this doesn’t mean that you should approach each vacation with a sense of doom and gloom. Instead, hold onto your feelings of excitement and curiosity, and try to focus on the positive aspects of your trip when something goes wrong.

If you can convert each negative thought into something positive, then you’re far less likely to lose your head or end up feeling sick with stress by the time you board your plane. After all, you have your travel purse to protect you, there’s no need to worry.

6.    Know How to Explore

Finally, if you really want to get the most out of your adventure, don’t restrict yourself to exploring the paths that have been laid out in front of you. In other words, try to avoid a trip that focuses on hitting all of the busiest tourist spots and fails to give any time to exploring the sights that aren’t necessarily packed with tourists. Don’t be afraid to push past your comfort zone, but remember to respect the people and environment around you as you explore.

As you open yourself up to new experiences, make sure that you’re equipped to take on new opportunities when they present themselves. Sometimes, the perfect vacation comes from taking chances and trying new things – rather than just doing the things that you “planned” for when you were at home. The best memories rarely come from a strict itinerary.
